The Dimension 20 — Lightweight Fun for the Next Big Adventure

The lightweight Dimension 20 is the perfect kids bike for riders aged 5½ and upwards who are making the exciting move to gears and going further than ever before!

Designed with a light aluminium frame, fork and parts, the Dimension 20 is easier to manage, making every ride smoother and more enjoyable. Wide-range 7-speed Shimano gearing tackles the ups and downs with ease, while an adjustable fit ensures the bike grows along with your little rider.

Designed for Young Riders:

Easy-Pedal Cranks — Our pedal cranks are ergonomically correct, proportional to the child's leg length. They also place the pedals closer to the bike's centre so that children can pedal as smoothly and naturally as possible.

Smaller Grips — Our handlebars and grips are narrower diameter so they fit small hands better, for confidence and control as well as better ability to reach the brakes safely.

Faster Tyres — Special edition Nutrak Speedsters with puncture resistance and reflective sidewalls roll comfortably and smoothly.

Lowered Frames — Our frames are lower where it counts, making it easier to get on and off and increasing clearance for greater confidence.

Steering Limiter — To help prevent falls when learning to co-ordinate pedalling and cornering, the steering has a limit stop that helps avoid an over-steering situation.

Designed for Parents:

Supporting Accessory Range — For gifts, customisation or just getting co-ordinated!

Transferable warranty — Our lifetime frame and fork warranty and 2-year parts warranty is transferrable, supporting service and re-sale value. Because these bikes are made to last.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Dimension 20 weight vs MX20 weight?

The MX20 weighs 9.6kg, compared to 9.1kg for the Dimension 20 — a weight saving of 0.5kg. Both are significantly lighter than budget steel-framed bikes of the same size, which typically weigh 11–12kg or more.

What are the parts differences between the Dimension 20 and the MX20?

The Dimension 20 has upgraded parts compared to the MX20 that save some weight, for example the aluminium forks, seat post head, chainring; and Shimano shifters with wider-range cassettes fitted to a Shimano rear freehub. The Nutrak Speedster tyres have a puncture-resistant belt and roll a little faster.

Ridgeback has been making bikes for all kinds of riders since 1983, and understands what an important part bikes play in the lives of many, many people in the UK. From flat bar mountain and touring bikes to comfortable commuters and children’s bikes all the way to E-Bikes, Ridgeback leads the way in making practical and fun bikes designed to fit in with your lifestyle.

From the UK’s first MTB in 1983, through the Roxy, the introduction of the Urban series in 1998, the Genesis Day 03 flat bar road bike in 2001, the Dual Track 29er and the 25th anniversary R25, Ridgeback Bikes have been helping people get out and about for 40 years now.

For the modern Ridgeback range, E-Bikes are absolutely the present and the future. Cycling isn’t always about fun or fitness, sometimes (or even most of the time) it’s an incredibly powerful tool for just getting around without using a car. For that type of urban mobility, E-Bikes are the perfect solution which is why the Ridgeback range contains multiple different models at different price points so that you have a choice no matter where you are or where you need to get to.

But that’s not to say that Ridgeback has ignored the non-E-Bike, not at all. The range still has classic, powered bikes from £400 all the way up to £1,199.99, making sure there is a choice for every rider, no matter their budget. The other fundamental is to make bikes that complement lifestyle, not hinder it. That means every Ridgeback uses quality parts to make sure that they keep going for longer and wont let you down when you need them most.

The other fundamental part of Ridgeback bikes is the kids bikes. It starts with the Scoot and Scoot XL balance bikes that are designed to teach kids the fundamentals of bike riding without throwing pedalling into the mix and goes all the way up to the almost-adult-sized Dimension 26, Ridgeback’s kids bikes are proper bikes, not toys. That means they’re made to withstand the beating that kids can inflict and come back ready for more, they wont need a trip to the bike shop every 5mins because that’s doesn’t benefit anyone.
